Established in 2009, the University of London's partnership with British University Vietnam has resulted in remarkable academic milestones, educational excellence and expanded opportunities for students and graduates.
The events kicked off on Monday, October 6, at the residence of the British Ambassador in Hanoi. Professor Ray Gordon, Vice Chancellor of BUV, was in attendance and highlighted collaboration between the University of London and BUV. He emphasised the strength and diversity of the alumni community, celebrating the unique paths graduates have taken.
Reflecting on the significance of the event, he stated, “Bringing our alumni together not only strengthens our ties but also showcases the incredible achievements of our graduates. It is inspiring to see how their experiences studying with the University of London and BUV have shaped their careers and contributions to society.”
A highlight of the evening was the address by alumnus **Ms. Bùi Thị Thu Hà , Chief Financial Officer of BIM Group**. She reflected on the transformative impact her education had on her career, encouraging fellow graduates to embrace every opportunity and reaffirming the global value of a University of London education.
The celebrations continued later that week with an alumni gathering in Ho Chi Minh City, hosted at the British Consul-General’s residence. **Chris Jeffery, Pro Vice Chancellor for BUV**, spoke passionately about the growing partnership between the University of London and BUV, highlighting the pivotal role that alumni play as ambassadors, mentoring current students, providing guidance, and supporting a wide array of global educational initiatives.
Despite the challenging weather in both cities, alumni and staff gathered to connect, network, and reflect on their experiences. These inaugural alumni events not only celebrated BUV and the University of London alumni but also laid the groundwork for a stronger partnership and joint initiatives in the years to come.
